Hello.

Y’all…. Where do I even start? I’ve been wanting to start this for years, and while there are a million reasons not to do this right now, here I am and here goes!

I just spent 4 nights in NYC on the lower east side and it did a number on me (in a great way!). These days my hubs and I do kids and work about 98.5% of our waking hours. I missed my kids and I wanted them to be a part of our trip, but let’s be real… they want to do kid stuff (they don’t want to sit still in a restaurant for sure!) and sometimes we need a minute to re-group. These little trips away remind us of why we got married in the first place. They remind us of who we are and where we are going. It helps us stay on track so that we can raise strong, independent children that can make a difference in this world.

Ok, that was way deep.. I digress.

My friends dressed me for my trip, as has become the norm lately for anything I go to (Bless them!). I mean, I love to browse online for outfits, but when it comes to putting it all together, there is nothing like the help from your best friends!

These maroon jeans I wore on our last day are my new go-to for Aggie games… Yes they are true Aggie MAROON and they are perfect for both Fall and football season!

Here’s a view from our corner room at Hotel on Rivington on the lower east side. We LOVED waking up to this view every morning and not to mention the beds are Tempur-Pedic… my first time sleeping on one! It was hard to leave.

Packing pro-tip!!… use ebags. You can see them in our bags in this pic above that we took the morning we left. We use them every trip, even if just for a night or two. When we travel with kids, everyone has their own color. It makes finding things and staying organized a breeze! We mostly use size medium, but we also have several different sizes. We got them 3 years ago when we went to Europe and we’ve been using them ever since.
